If you’re headed to court in Clinton County, you’d better leave your phone at home. On May 18, the county implemented a ban on cellphones on the third and fourth floors of the courthouse. The St. Johns courthouse isn't the first in the state to implement such a ban, but it is the first in the region. Bans similar to Clinton County’s have been implemented in several other Michigan counties, including Saginaw, Berrien, Washtenaw, Calhoun, Bay and Isabella counties, said John Nevin, a spokesman for the State Court Administrative Office.
