MSU Extension in Saginaw faces major cuts in proposed county budgetSAGINAW, MI — The MSU Extension office has provided a variety of services in Saginaw County for more than 100 years. But the agency may soon need to close its office in downtown Saginaw. Funds that pay for the office lease at 1 Tuscola St., among other things, will be eliminated if county officials pass the 2016-17 fiscal year budget in its current version. Saginaw County Controller Robert Belleman's proposed budget cuts General Fund support of the agency to $98,509, which is $105,535 less than it provided last year and $123,713 less than MSU Extension requested.
