Another Democrat is tossing his hat in the ring as a potential challenger to Rep. John Faso in the 2018 election, swelling the number of possible Faso opponents to four. Gareth Rhodes, a former press aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, announced in an online post Monday morning that he is considering a challenge to the first-term Republican following Faso’s vote in favor of the American Health Care Act — the House Republican Obamacare repeal and replace plan — last week. “It’s time to repeal and replace John Faso,” Rhodes wrote in a post on Medium. Rhodes grew up in Ulster County and worked in Cuomo’s press shop before leaving to attend Harvard Law School for the past two years.
