Davidson County Election Commission Chairman Ron Buchanan has resigned from his post in advance of an investigative television report expected to air Monday night that shows him getting combative with a female reporter and calling her a “b ----.” Buchanan, in an interview with The Tennessean, confirmed he will submit his resignation to the Tennessee Division of Election later Monday. He was unapologetic about his choice of words and disputed the basis of the reporting that led to his confrontation with WSMV-TV reporter Alanna Autler. “I said it. I meant it. I still mean it,” Buchanan said. “That was the one word that I could think of that accurately conveyed what I was thinking at that time. “I should not have used that terminology, but as the media has the freedom of press, individuals have the freedom of speech. And I can tell her what I think about her. And I don’t apologize for it. There are people that don’t think I should have done it and that it hurts politics in this area, but so be it.” Read more: www.tennessean.com/story/news/2016/02/01/davidson-county-election-commission-chairman-resigns/79635446/
