Republican Says Rape Doesn’t Lead To Pregnancy “Because Of The Trauma Of The Incident”
Are we back to talking about “legitimate rape” already? It must be an election year.
An Idaho state representative has reignited a firestorm over the pseudo-scientific talking points of the anti-abortion movement after declaring that the “trauma” of rape and incest prevents conception.
The gaffe took place during a hearing yesterday on a bill to require women seeking abortions receive a list of free ultrasound providers, many of which are actually fake ‘Crisis Pregnancy Centers’ (CPCs) that attempt to shame, trick, and misinform them into carrying pregnancies to term.
As a matter of fact, Rep. Pete Nielsen made his comment to the director of a CPC.
