Leaders throughout the nation respond to Lubbock native killed in Israel
On Wednesday, leaders throughout the state and nation, including Vice President Joe Biden, responded after a Lubbock native was killed in a terrorist attack in Israel on Tuesday. Taylor Force, a 28-year-old Vanderbilt University student, was stabbed to death by a Palestinian man in an apparent terrorist attack during a school trip, authorities say. He was exploring what to do with his life as a civilian after graduating from West Point and serving tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, family and friends told The Associated Press. Stuart Force, Taylor’s father, said in a telephone interview with the AP his son graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 2009, following in the footsteps of his grandfather. Force served in the Army from 2009-14 and then took about a year off after active duty. He lived in Lexington, Kentucky, before moving to Nashville to attend Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management.
