As Senate race tightens, Democrats make a final televised pitchIn their final televised debate before Tuesday's election, the Democrats facing off for the U.S Senate nomination drew few direct contrasts with each other, instead using the event to relay their key messages to a broad audience one more time. The exception? Joe Vodvarka, a small-businessman from western Pennsylvania who was standing next to the man responsible for (briefly) knocking him off the primary ballot. The legal action by retired Navy admiral Joe Sestak meant that Vodvarka, who has run a low-budget, bare-bones campaign, didn't participate in the previous televised debates. Vodvarka refrained from confronting Sestak until a question about voting rights, when he recalled how the on-going court challenge kept him out of the race until last week.
