Thousands gather to mourn, and celebrate, the lives of four UGA students killed in wreck
The mood shifted from celebration to mourning with alternating bouts of crying and laughter emerging from a crowd of students gathered at a memorial on the University of Georgia campus Thursday. Police estimated at least 2,000 students came to Tate Center Plaza the day after four UGA classmates died in a car wreck and a fifth student was critically injured on a two-lane road in Oconee County. Open prayer circles, sing-alongs and shared stories helped the thousands of people grieve at the vigil remembering Kayla Canedo, 19, Brittany Feldman, 20, Christina Semeria, 19, and Halle Scott, 19. The student who was driving, 21-year-old Agnes Kim of Snellville, is in critical condition at Athens Regional Medical Center.
