DEADWOOD — A Meade County commissioner was indicted with destruction of property April 20. According to KEVN-TV, Alan Aker faces felony intentional damage to property charges. He faces alternative counts of intentional damage to property between $2,500 and $5,000 and intentional damage to property between $1,000 and $2,500. In a prepared statement, Aker said he believes the allegation arises from a business transaction between his business, Aker Woods Company, Inc., and a Sioux Falls developer who he declined to name. According to Aker, Aker Woods was hired by the developer to install a hand-peeled railing at a vacation cabin. After Aker Woods installed the railings, the Sioux Falls developer allegedly refused to pay for approximately $2,500 worth of work and materials because they were, "unacceptable." Subsequently, the railings were removed by Aker Woods. Read more: www.bhpioneer.com/deadwood/article_a4e31dc6-0e57-11e6-9dd6-4b04f29fb39f.html
