How Minnesota can provide billions of dollars to fix roads and other transportation needs over the next decade may become clearer within a week. Senate and House negotiators will likely meet at least twice in the next week to begin working out spending details, said House Transportation Chairman Tim Kelly, R-Red Wing. Many lawmakers ran in 2014 saying transportation was a top priority, but no agreement was reached last year and no obvious progress has been produced so far this year. “There was a promise that transportation will be delivered,” Kelly said, adding that he is confident a significant transportation funding package will pass the DFL-controlled Senate and the Republican-run House and be signed by DFL Gov.
