Bentley doesn't rule out special session; says 'rest' needed firstGov. Robert Bentley said this morning he would forge ahead with trying to fix Alabama's prisons and with reforms to state's Medicaid program. The governor spoke to reporters about 11 hours after his ambitious plan to build new state prisons died on the last day of the legislative session. "We are disappointed," Bentley said. "But we will not give up on this. It is a major, major problem in this state." Besides prisons, funding for Medicaid was probably the dominant issue of the legislative session.
