Initiative will focus on north Omaha in effort to register up to 10,000 Douglas County votersA group organized in north Omaha announced an effort Thursday to register up to 10,000 voters in Douglas County by November’s general election. The Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance’s initiative — dubbed IMA 10K: Race to the Polls — primarily aims at improving north Omaha’s voter registration rate and participation in elections, the organizers said at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, at North 24th and Lake Streets. About two dozen people turned out to hear two organizers of the ambitious plan and the Douglas County election commissioner, Brian Kruse, tout the civic benefits of registering to vote and of voting. The Rev.
