STONE RIDGE, VIRGINIA -- Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton held a roundtable discussion at a coffee shop in Loudoun County Monday to highlight issues she said are important to families, such as equal pay, paid family leave and reducing student debt. Parents in the small crowd, mostly women, raised issues such as the costs of child care in Loudoun, a county that is growing exponentially and does not have all-day kindergarten throughout the county. “It’s clear that there are so many challenges facing young families today that we have got to come to grips with and we have got to work together to try to find the best menu of options,” Clinton said. “There still is a challenge with equal pay for women, which is real, not made up,” Clinton said. She also cited concerns about unpredictable work schedules, and the burden of student debt.
