A prosecutor with the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office died Monday morning after committing suicide in a long fall in downtown Salt Lake City, police said Tuesday.
Salt Lake City police Detective Greg Wilking confirmed the victim was Chad Platt, and that "it was a suicide," due to a "fall from height."
Platt's death was believed to have occurred at about 5:30 a.m. Monday, Wilking said.
Police said his body was found near the street at 81 E. 300 South, below a parking tower, and near where the DA's offices are located.
