Despite snow still covering many secondary roadways across the state, forecasters are already warning drivers of black ice conditions for Monday's morning commute. AccuWeather meteorologists urged drivers to use caution Monday as snow that melted during the day Sunday refreezes overnight. Parking lots, road shoulders and sidewalks will be especially susceptible to the slippery conditions, so use caution. Since the storm began Friday night, state police helped 354 disabled vehicles across the state, as well as responded to 178 property damage collisions and 22 crashes that resulted in injuries. Gov. Jack Markell announced Sunday night that the State of Emergency and Level 1 driving restrictions would be lifted at midnight across the state. Government offices are set to open at 10 a.m. Monday to give DelDOT more time to clear the minor roadways and keep drivers off the streets just a little bit longer.
