Teen sues Columbia Falls, Montana police department over fatal crashA teen seriously injured in a June 2015 crash that ended a high-speed pursuit by the Columbia Falls Police Department has filed a lawsuit asking for at least $3 million. The lawsuit claims the officer who initiated the traffic stop at the beginning of the chase did not have a legitimate reason to stop the vehicle. “In viewing the officer’s video camera in his police car, the pictures do not justify the officer’s probable cause,” Eureka attorney Marshall M. Myers said. Myers is representing Joshua Sauls, a local teen who was 16 at the time of the crash on June 14, 2015. Sauls and another 18-year-old passenger were injured in the wreck and the driver, Pierce Norman Beach, 15, was killed.
