Sanders issues NH debate counteroffer, asks for 3 additional meetings with Clinton and O'MalleyHillary Clinton is urging Bernie Sanders to debate one final time in New Hampshire before the first primary Feb. 9, but the presidential debate that the three major Democratic candidates have clamored for may not materialize. Sanders’ campaign on Wednesday night issued a statement accusing Clinton of only wanting a debate because "the dynamics of the race have changed," with Sanders gaining momentum. Sanders issued a counteroffer: "We propose three additional debates. One in March, April and May and none on a Friday, Saturday or holiday weekend. And all of the three Democratic candidates must be invited. If the Clinton campaign will commit to this schedule, we would ask the DNC to arrange a debate in New Hampshire on Feb. 4." Sanders has previously called on Clinton to encourage the Democratic National Committee to schedule more debates, and he used a petition on his website to raise money off the issue.
