NEW BRITAIN — The city says that when the Rock Cats packed up and left New Britain for Hartford, they left something behind: Nearly $150,000 in utility bills. Mayor Erin Stewart on Wednesday afternoon sent out a news release to very publicly put the team on notice that it hasn't reimbursed the city for the electric, gas, water and sewer bills it ran up in its final season at New Britain Stadium. "While the team and its owners have relocated from the city, they are not off the hook for these overdue bills," Stewart said, adding that her office had sent an invoice to General Manager Tim Restall. "I will not sit silent and have taxpayers foot the bill for these utilities." But the team, now known as the Hartford Yard Goats, countered that it received the bills from New Britain just two days ago.
