The last several months have been strange for Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.
There are the routine controversies, like bison management, but then there are surprises: a massive fish kill on the Yellowstone River, the discovery of invasive mussels within the state, personnel shakeups.
“It’s safe to say it’s been an unsettled and difficult time in a lot of ways,” said Ron Aasheim, a spokesman for the agency.
That’s all without mentioning the boiling tensions concerning the state parks division.
