GREEN BAY - The city of Green Bay has made more than $44,000 in salary payments to two former police officers who haven't performed police work since a harassment scandal was discovered this winter — and continues to pay them a total of more than $2,700 per week. Former Lt. Robert Korth and Officer R. Casey Masiak haven't performed police work in almost four months and resigned under pressure earlier this year, but they still draw regular paychecks from the city. That's according to settlement agreements that the city and the officers hoped to keep confidential. The city also is providing the ex-officers with taxpayer-funded medical and dental insurance coverage. Additionally, the department is paying Masiak more than $15,000 for comp time, unused vacation time and other accrued leave, according to the agreement. It also ended its investigation of him, and agreed to clear his personnel file of any record that he was investigated in the harassment case.
