Vernon Traffic Stop Leads To Discovery Of More Than 1,400 Bags Of HeroinVERNON – A traffic stop on East Main Street Tuesday night led to the discovery of more than 1,400 bags of heroin and two arrests, according to police. An officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Court Street at 6:26 p.m. Tuesday for a headlight violation being driven by Pedro Cartagena, 35, of Manchester, police said. Police searched the vehicle using K-9 dog Thor and found 1,437 bags of heroin concealed inside, police said. Cartagena was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school and a headlight violation.
