A trial for three men accused of taking part in a scheme to defraud Medicare and TriCare out of more than $10.8 million will begin in April. Guam Medical Transport, the company whose president, vice president and executive assistant are under indictment on allegations of fraud and money laundering, released a statement Tuesday night maintaining the innocence of all employees implicated in the case, while also saying it “has been forced to close its doors.” The statement came via email with “Cliff Shoemake, GMT president” in the signature line. Clifford P. Shoemake, along with his son Nicholas Shoemake and company vice president Kimberly C. “Casey” Conner, pleaded not guilty Wednesday at the District Court of Guam.
