OKLAHOMA CITY — An effort by a Tulsa lawmaker to delay a cut in the state’s personal income tax rate is getting no traction from key policymakers. Rep. Mike Mazzei, R-Tulsa, has a bill to delay the tax cut, which became effective Jan. 1, dropping the rate to 5 percent from 5.25 percent. Following a Board of Equalization meeting last week in which state officials revised budget figures downward, Gov. Mary Fallin panned the idea. The income tax cut kicks in at $8,700 per individual or $15,000 per family, Fallin said.
