Audit: Nearly $200,000 appears to be missing from Tulsa Jail inmate trust accountNearly $200,000 in Tulsa Jail inmate funds apparently is unaccounted for and suspected to be missing from an account that will be scrutinized by a forensic auditor and state investigators, according to the state’s latest annual financial audit of Tulsa County. The audit also reveals that a Sheriff’s Office employee wasn’t removed from the payroll for 11 months after being terminated, resulting in the person’s having received more than $36,000 in compensation post-employment. Those revelations are contained in the State Auditor and Inspector’s Office’s fiscal year 2015 audit of Tulsa County government for financial reporting and compliance. They serve as the latest public blows to a Sheriff’s Office in turmoil in the aftermath of former Reserve Deputy Robert Bates’ fatal shooting of Eric Harris 11 months ago.
