Porn site conducts survey; finds its users support Bernie Sanders, eliminating gun control
Pornhub users really feel the Bern.
In a survey conducted by the pornography website that polled more than 371,000 of its users, 73.4 percent of Democrat users said they support Bernie Sanders for president, compared to 26.6 percent supporting Hillary Clinton. On the Republican side of the site’s demographics, Donald Trump garnered far and away the most support at 60.5 percent. Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz fell far behind Trump at 19.9 and 19.6 percent, respectively.
Pornhub’s 2016 Presidential Election Survey was originally shared exclusively on Mic.com and also covered issues like abortion, marijuana and gun control. According to Pornhub, the site gathered data on users’ preferences for president starting on Dec. 21. Mic.com presented data gathered from Feb. 22 to Feb. 29, which found that Sanders beat every candidate when the Republican and Democrat data was combined, at 31.1 percent of users’ support. The second most popular presidential candidate was “none of them,” at 25.4 percent.
On other matters, 39.1 percent of Pornhub users also supported the government funding Planned Parenthood, although 24.2 percent think funding should be reduced and 9.1 percent think it should be cut completely. Those without an opinion: 27.9 percent.
