TEMPE, Ariz. — A group of Arizona Republicans are vowing to vote for anyone but U.S. Sen. John McCain in this year’s GOP senate primary. The Republican Party of Maricopa County said Sunday that precinct committeemen approved a resolution to support another candidate. Maricopa County Chairman Tyler Bowyer said in a statement that the senator’s recent vote to increase the national debt while fully funding Planned Parenthood shows he is more aligned with President Barack Obama than Arizona voters.
