Satire publication The Onion once again lampoons Iowa, this time with a news brief about Gov. Terry Branstad demanding to know which star on the American flag represents the Hawkeye State. “Are they arranged by geographical location? Or is it by when each state joined the Union?” The Onion wrote. “Whatever it is, I just think we should be able to look at the flag and point to where our star is. Otherwise, it seems pointless to even have them on there at all.” Online, readers responded to the article. “It’s right below the one for Minnesota,” Yonassan Gershom tweeted. “[T]he one that's whitest, but also inexplicably first in line,” Zach Martin responded.
