Former Brenham vet who killed cat testifies at hearing on license
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A Texas veterinarian who boasted online of killing a cat with a bow and arrow testified Monday at a licensing hearing that the incident has left her "essentially unemployable."
Dr. Kristen Lindsey spoke during a hearing that will decide if she will keep her license. It was called for after the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners filed a formal complaint to revoke her license in October.
Animal rights activists were outraged when Lindsey posted photos on Facebook last April of her posing with a dead cat with an arrow through its head.
An Austin County grand jury declined to charge Lindsey, but she was fired from the Brenham animal clinic where she worked. Lindsey claimed she shot the cat because she thought it had rabies and wanted to protect her animals.
