Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann wants another bite at the apple for his election law reforms.
Hosemann told the Hattiesburg American on Tuesday that he wants the Legislature to re-address the failed measure in a special session this year.
He said Gov. Phil Bryant told him he already plans to call lawmakers back for a special session to address how the state should spend money it will receive from BP from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill settlement.
"Today we are calling on Governor Bryant to include common-sense election reform in his special session."
