LSU fraternity under investigation, school providing few details
LSU officials are investigating an incident involving the campus Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity chapter, but few details are available.
As of Wednesday evening, university spokesman Ernie Ballard said he could not confirm what prompted the investigation.
“We take behavioral issues or anything that impacts student safety seriously,” Ballard said in a written statement. “Anytime a student organization violates the values of their organization or the values of the university, we follow the (Policy Statement 52) process, which we are currently with Lambda Chi Alpha.”
The policy states that the Office of the Dean of Students will conduct a preliminary investigation into the reported allegations of misconduct and will follow up with formal charges if there is reasonable cause to believe the misconduct occurred on the part of the student organization, The Daily Reveille reported. The organization’s officers would then discuss the charges with the dean and decide whether they would like to proceed with either administrative action or a referral to a hearing panel.
