Employees of the state Department of Environmental Conservation are back to work in their 625 Broadway, Albany headquarters today, and apparently the supervisors are acting as if nothing happened last Friday.
That was when employees were sent home early after the discovery of what state police said were containers of feces and urine in the building, which houses offices for the Empire State Development agency as well as DEC.
A couple of details have emerged, however. For one thing, it appears that the waste was found on the fourth floor. And at least one state worker has suggested that someone had been urinating on a conference table, although it was unclear if that had been happening earlier.
Additionally, workers in the building are said to be throwing out food items as well as utensils they may have for fear of contamination.
