Chris Christie ditches campaign trail ahead of N.J. snowstormTRENTON, N.J., Jan. 22 (UPI) -- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie left New Hampshire on Friday to return to his home state, which is bracing for a potentially historic snowstorm. Christie tweeted Friday afternoon: "I'm sorry N.H. but I gotta go home -- we got snow coming." In subsequent tweets, Christie said his wife would be staying behind and that "you are never not the governor." The New Hampshire Primary is Feb. 9. The move comes after many in his home state have slammed him for absenteeism. In August, a poll by Rutgers-Eagleton found more than half of respondents felt Christie should resign as governor. More recent polling found more than half of those surveyed considered Christie "stubborn" and "arrogant," and a little less than half found him "self-centered," a "bully" and "impulsive."
