West Virginia governor’s chief of staff to step downGov. Earl Ray Tomblin’s chief of staff, Charlie Lorensen, is stepping down, and communications director Chris Stadelman is taking over the job on Friday. Lorensen has served as chief of staff since April 2013. He previously served as West Virginia revenue secretary and tax commissioner. Earlier this year, the state Ethics Commission granted Lorensen an exemption to seek private employment with a state-regulated business without having to wait a year. Lorensen plans to work in the private sector, according to a release, and split his time between West Virginia and Georgia. “I have worked with Charlie in numerous capacities for three decades,” said Tomblin, who hosted a farewell reception for Lorensen Tuesday night at the Governor’s Mansion. “He has been a wonderful friend for many years and a valuable adviser during the past five years of my administration.” - See more at: www.wvgazettemail.com/news-politics/20160622/wv-governors-chief-of-staff-to-step-down
