Liberty University’s Campus Farm on Sunnymeade Road has been adding new animals, and now seeks a special use permit from the Campbell County Board of Supervisors to increase options for structures onsite. Farm manager Alicia Cripe said Liberty’s campus farm is looking for flexibility in what it can build onsite, including structures that hadn’t occurred to leaders when they successfully requested the first special use permit for the farm in 2013. “Things have been sort of expanding faster than I imagined,” she said. A public hearing on the request is set for 5:30 p.m. July 5 in Campbell County’s Haberer Building in Rustburg. If the farm gets the special use permit, Cripe said, officials plan to put in a mobile trailer farm office this fall.
