Raimondo signs $8.9-billion budget, says it improves R.I. business climateGovernor Raimondo signed off on a new $8.9 billion state budget Friday, touting a $30-million cut in unemployment insurance taxes and a reduction in the corporate minimum tax, among other measures that she said would better the state's business climate. The signing, which came almost a week after the General Assembly's end-of-session all-nighter, brought legislative leaders back together as they patted each other on the back for finishing the job and extolled the work of their teams.
