Macon city auditorium and coliseum offices closed by management companyThe company managing the Macon City Auditorium and the Macon Coliseum furloughed its employees and the offices to both facilities are closed temporarily. Macon-Bibb County Mayor Robert Reichert said the offices are unlikely to reopen until July 1 when a new company takes over management. The Macon-Bibb County Commission approved Tuesday a five-year contract with Philadelphia-based Spectra Venue Management to manage the auditorium and the coliseum. Noble-Interstate Management Group will manage the properties through the end of this month. Noble recently asked the county about offering a severance package for all employees, Reichert said during the pre-commission meeting. Reichert said he told the company he expected the same employees would continue working with Spectra. He didn’t know how many employees were affected.
