Today, it’s legally OK for security guards to pack handguns in churches, but plucking oysters from Mississippi waters after sunset could lead to a $10,000 fine. A slew of new laws take effect in Mississippi today. Here is a summary of some of the new laws: HIV tests — Law will now require that all HIV test results be turned over to authorities when there is a sex crime against a minor. Uber — Uber and other transportation network companies will have to be licensed with the state and drivers will undergo background checks and have auto liability insurance — which will usurp attempted city regulations.
