Police shoot escaped pit bull after several, including a young girl, are attacked in HarlemA police officer shot an escaped pit bill in East Harlem Friday evening after it reportedly escaped and attacked him and other bystanders Friday, The dog got away from its owner around 5:45 p.m. outside of 300 E. 115 Street and Second Avenue, DNAInfo reported. The dog then reportedly lunged at a nine-year-old girl and her 30-year-old mother, and bit a bystander who tried to help pull the dog off the child. Two officers arrived at the scene, and one was bitten by the animal, according to police. That’s when the officer shot the dog three times, killing it, according to reports.
