Former Lubbock City Attorney Sam Medina, his son and his wife reported to jail Friday where they were booked and released on bond for separate charges. Medina was booked and released from the Lubbock County Detention Center a day after a Lubbock County grand jury indicted him on 10 counts of sexual assault of his daughter-in-law, Angelina Medina. His son, Erik, was indicted for practicing medicine without a license. Velma Medina, Sam Medina’s wife, is charged with two misdemeanor counts of possession of a dangerous drug. Randall Sims, the 47th Judicial District attorney, accuses her of possessing the antibiotic drugs metronidazole and amocicillin without a prescription. Bond amounts for the Medinas were set at $30,000 for the sexual assault charge, $20,000 for unlicensed practice of medicine and $1,000 for the possession charge.
