Auditor Jim Zeigler claims funding for Alabama Gulf park project 'unlawful'State Auditor Jim Zeigler wants to join a lawsuit filed by former state Conservation Commissioner Charles Grimsley challenging the use of BP funds to build a new lodge, conference center, and other improvements at Alabama's Gulf State Park. Grimsley filed the lawsuit in April, claiming that the 2013 legislation that authorized the project does not allow the use of BP money from the 2010 oil spill to pay for the work. Zeigler has filed a request to intervene in the case. He asserts that Gov. Robert Bentley and other state officials are "wrongfully and unlawfully" spending state funds on the project. Zeigler's motion says he seeks to intervene both as state auditor and as a taxpayer. Read more: www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2016/06/auditor_jim_zeigler_claims_fun.html
