John Hickenlooper talked VP with Hillary Clinton in private meeting
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton discussed the vice presidency with Gov. John Hickenlooper in a recent one-hour private meeting that came as she prepares to announce her pick.
Clinton broached the topic when she met Hickenlooper for coffee before her event June 28 in Denver, the governor told The Denver Post in an interview Thursday.
The second-term governor described the talk about the vice presidential search as “brief — like a minute or two.” And he dismissed the suggestion “that it was some sort of a big deal.”
Hickenlooper sidestepped questions about whether he is being vetted for the job — “What’s vetting?” he replied — but he maintained his interest in the job if selected.
