OAKLAND – A San Francisco Bay Area district attorney’s inspector has been fired and a Richmond police officer has been placed on leave in connection with a growing sex scandal involving numerous law enforcement agencies. The East Bay Times reports Officer Jerrod Tong, a school resource officer, was relieved of duty on Thursday. The news comes after Alameda County District Attorney spokeswoman Teresa Drenick confirmed that Rick Orozco was fired. KTVU reports that Orozco, a former Oakland police captain, had been accused of having inappropriate online communications with an 18-year-old woman. The woman is a self-described sex worker.
