Check your pantries: Publix Super Markets has issued a voluntary recall for several store brand pancake and waffle mixes due to concerns they may be tainted with Salmonella. The chain issued the recall Wednesday after learning from a supplier that milk powder used as an ingredient in the mixes was possibly contaminated with the bacterium, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Affected mixes were sold at Publix stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee and North Carolina. Products under recall include 16-ounce packages of Publix Premium banana-flavored chocolate chip pancake and waffle mix; Publix Premium pumpkin pancake and waffle mix; and Publix Premium blueberry flavored pancake and waffle mix. So far, no one has reported any illnesses related to the recalled products. Read more: jacksonville.com/news/2016-12-08/publix-recalls-store-brand-pancake-and-waffle-mixes
