Michigan auto supplier tops $400K in fines after state safety inspectionsNineteen citations totaling $265,600 were levied this week against a Michigan auto supplier following workplace safety inspections. The fines are the most of any workplace safety violations issued in Michigan in 2016, according to federal data. Another $154,950 in proposed penalties have been charged to Bosal during the last six years, according to the state's Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. That brings the six-year citation total to $420,550 in initial penalties. "Penalties can be reduced through a penalty reduction agreement, when the employer agrees to accept the citations and prove prompt abatement," according to a LARA spokeswoman. Information on whether that took place with Bosal was not available. Read more: www.mlive.com/business/index.ssf/2016/12/michigan_auto_supplier_may_pay.html
