Alabama State Comptroller Thomas L. White Jr. died on Thursday following a brief illness, Gov. Robert Bentley said in a statement. "Just a few days ago, I spoke with his family and my thoughts and prayers are with him," he stated. Bentley said White was a "great public servant" and served the state of Alabama for more than four decades. White previously served as the chief financial officer at the Alabama Department of Public Health for 22 years. He also served as the CFO of the Alabama Public Health Care Authority for 15 years.
