IRVINE, Calif. (AP) -- Mazda will keep its U.S. headquarters in California and will expand into a state-of-the-art facility with a 10-year lease. The automaker said Monday that it will occupy five floors and 102,000 square feet of a 21-floor building in Irvine. Mazda moved its headquarters to Irvine in 1987 after first establishing itself in Compton in 1970. Employees at the location will continue to oversee sales, marketing, parts and customer service for nearly 700 Mazda dealers in the U.S. and Mexico.
