N.Y. attorney general probe shows ticket brokers scammed customers into paying more for concertsALBANY — Fans hoping to score tickets to their favorite bands have the odds stacked against them unless they're willing to fork over big bucks to buy them from ticket brokers, a multi-year probe by Attorney General Eric Schneiderman found. "Ticketing is a fixed game," he said Wednesday. The probe found that 54% of all tickets to hot concerts are set aside for industry insiders or pre-sale customers before they are offered to the general public. And brokers looking to offer tickets way above face value often illegally deploy "bot" software that allow them to buy thousands of tickets within seconds of them going on sale.
