Tim Tebow bill clears House, now goes to Senate for considerationFRANKFORT, Ky. - Home-schooled students would be eligible to participate in extra-curricular activities at a public school under the “Tim Tebow bill” that passed the Kentucky House on Tuesday. State Rep. Stan Lee, R-Lexington, said home-schooled students deserve the right to try out for spots on public school athletic squads as long as they meet academic and immunization requirements. “Give them a chance,” Lee urged fellow House lawmakers who passed the measure on a 55-34 vote. “After all, their parents are already paying property taxes to the public school districts”. Rep. Derrick Graham, a retired public school teachers said he fears deserving public school students might be bumped from teams as a result of the legislation if it is enacted.
