Transit authority still reviewing CEO's expenses after $19K paybackDETROIT -- The Regional Transit Authority board is continuing to review travel expenses racked up by CEO Michael Ford as it considers whether to renew his contract to lead the entity charged with overhauling southeast Michigan's disjointed public transportation system. Ford last week repaid the RTA nearly $19,000 after unusually high hotel, airfare, meal costs paid with public funds came to light. "He wrote a check for a little under $19,000 for expenses," RTA spokesman Mario Morrow said. "However, the board has not come to a conclusion of the amount of money that he may have to pay back because it's still under review."
