San Francisco teachers union official on leave after sting video releasedA San Francisco teachers union official has been placed on administrative leave following the release of an undercover video Tuesday in which he appears to admit he assaulted a student and covered it up. San Francisco school officials and labor leaders are investigating the contents of the video released Tuesday by Project Veritas, a nonprofit known for legally and ethically questionable undercover video stings involving labor unions, the community-organizing group ACORN and National Public Radio. The edited footage released Tuesday includes separate conversations in 2015 between Antonio Mankini, treasurer and field representative for the United Educators of San Francisco, and two Project Veritas staffers, one posing as a friend of a district teacher who hit a child and the other as the teacher himself.
